My process is grounded in

poetry and craftsmanship.

each design begins with a

poetic theme, which

inspires the initial sketches.

next, i use traditional

indo-persian painting methods

to dye the paper and transfer

my artwork using raw pigment

and a porcupine quill.

In the words of the japanese zen

poet basho, “seek not to follow in

the footsteps of the masters;

seek what they sought.”

I am grateful to have

studied with master

painters in several

traditions to create

a syncretic blend

of regions, eras, and

styles.

hand and soul

then, i paint the details

with watercolor, gouache,

or 22k shell gold.

and lastly, the artworks are

scanned and perfected in the

digital realm before making their

way to the printers.
